Katie Malloch has loved jazz since her childhood, thanks to her parents' excellent musical taste!
Since 1976, Katie has hosted a variety of jazz programs for CBC Radio, from "That Midnight Jazz" to "Jazz Beat", and now "Tonic". She's interviewed hundres of jazz artists, including Sonny Rollins, Sarah Vaughan, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea and Joe Lovano, and has spotlighted some of Canada's most talented jazz performers and groups.
What's important to Katie is being able to bring the music and the audience together. "There's no more satisfying feeling than knowing that listeners are hearing something new, or thinking about a musician in a new way, because of this show," she says.
