I was a Canadian indie fan for years without knowing it: Spirit of the West, Crash Test Dummies, etc. When 93.9 the River started broadcasting here in Detroit/Windsor, I kept hearing (and kept really liking) songs by this Sam Roberts guy, the Tragically Hip, Sloan... my very cool 60-year-old cousin turned me on to the R3 and I've never looked back. It really revived radio and music for me. I love the variety of music (with the possible exception of some of the country songs), I love hearing new music all the time, and enjoy the bloggers. Listening to the R3 has also made me realize: I'm a sucker for the banjo!
