I've been doing a world/roots/eclectic radio show in the San Francisco Bay area for 24 years now. First on KPFA, and now on KALW. I've written about roots, world, and traditional music for Froots, Rhythm Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, online music guides, and reference books. I am also very proud to have produced a number of world music segments for CBC's Global Village show.
I love world music, and to me, that includes all improvisational, dance, folk, vernacular, roots, rock, R&B, gospel, and multi-genre collaborations. There are very juicy jams happening right now--in the Mediterranean, in Seattle, in Toronto, on Salt Spring Island, in Lisbon...world music takes us anywhere and everywhere we want to go!
