Pete Morey hosts R3 Weekend.  You can friend him, follow him , or tumble with him.

Pete Morey might sounds like a limey but he actually became a Canadian last year. "Give 'er". He now has two passports like James Bond.

He was born in the U.K. and came to Canada in 2004. Canadian Indie-rock was exploding in the UK at the time, so Pete decided to take a trip to the great white north to see what the fuss was all about. He moved to Toronto and went to gigs all summer. He fell in love with Canadian artists like Wolf Parade, the Stills, Buck 65 and Broken Social Scene. He also fell in love with the Toronto Blue Jays, Poutine and a girl named Sabrina. Pete decided to stay in Canada.

He started at the CBC in 2006 and since then he has worked on a variety of programs including GO! with Brent Bambury (which took him on a tour across the Canadian badlands ),  Q with Jian Gomeshi (long before that Billy-Bob thing) and Radio 2 Morning (which meant he had to get up, before YOU went to bed) #earlybirdcatchestheworm

His favourite band is Pavement. He saw them play in 2009 and wept three times.

His favourite Canadian musician is Chad Vangaalen. When he's not listening to CBC Radio 3 he listens to old Reggae 45's, the Wu-tang and anything by Swedish band The Radio Dept.

In his spare time he enjoys rock 'n' roll, comic books, spectacles, bicycles and baseball. Occasionally you'll find him spinning seven inch records in grimy bars under his alias "DJ Ginger Sting". He plays a mean Ukulele has a Gentlemen's book club and once trained as a professional clown halfway up a mountain.  He has never learned how to drive, has never been to Ottawa and has never seen the movie Titanic. He doesn't plan to see it any time soon.
