The songs came first. But songs need to be heard.
Bruised Orange was formed primarily to bring the songs of long time friends Roger Cormier (multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter) and Steve Long (multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter and producer) to life. The music is all created at Amberwood, a small project studio in Steve’s home. (Both men live in New Brunswick.)
As Bruised Orange, Cormier and Long write in a variety of styles, ranging from country-tinged ballads to bluesy, riff-based rock. Their lyrics are considered and heartfelt but the sound has its roots in the roadhouse.
