Not an original concept in itself, but one has to wonder if there is anything new under the sun or do we simply continue to recover and reinterpret an elemental human template

Ha! Very clever, interesting and thought provoking. Can we expect a sequel? I hope so. (Heaven knows Star Trek has lots of them!)

This. This is why the CBC is still relevant. Thanks, Tom, for keeping it fresh and interesting!

Tom, this was a very interesting video. Beethoven's Fourth Symphony is perhaps one of my favorite works by Beethoven, and I have often wondered about the almost archetypal nature of the adagio introduction. One reason for thinking it was indeed borrowed from somewhere else is how the motif is not repeated for the remainder of the symphony (aside from perhaps a few hints of it in the fourth movement). Was it there simply to provide dynamic contrast to the brilliant allegro of the first movement, was it a reference to a more elusive origin, or perhaps a communication with the Enterprise? I suppose we may never know.
