It was a perfect night for an Ohbijou CD release concert. Fall had just started to set in and it was dark, cold and rainy. Dark, cold and rainy are words that I would use to describe the vibe of Ohbijou's music. Now I'm not suggesting that Ohbijou makes depressing music, quite the opposite. Their songs seem to come from a dark place but inside each of them is the optimistic hope that the sun will soon rise.
This concert was a joyous night for Ohbijou. They performed in front of a nearly full house at Trinity St. Paul church on Bloor Street. The largest venue the band has played in Toronto and a venue they had long hoped to play.
