The first ever Harvest Picnic took place on a perfect day in late August 2011, near the shores of Christie Lake by Hamiton, Ontario. The festival was a family-friendly event designed to promote the beauty of Hamilton's rural area, the bounty of local foods and the talents of the promoter's friends. Who was the promoter? None other than Daniel Lanois, and the friend you’ll hear joining him on this set was Emmylou Harris.

These two should really record more together. This taste is soooo goood. I love the absolutely stripped down bare bones of the power trio anyway, but here the guitar is the focus and the vocals layer on support. Daniel always knew how to play but generally chose not to, here the guitar in his hands jumps out at you in an irresistible twisting turning burning mode. The vocals are the honey on top.

My only regret is that I wasn't there in person. This is magic.

Emmylou and Daniel are a lovely combination of talents...truly a great match. I saw them together in Montreal a couple of years ago....fabulous show. I think Wrecking Ball is a gem of an album. A follow up cd is way overdue. What do you say Ms.Harris...Mr. Lanois?

In their wildest dreams Tim Horton's could not have had a more perfect product plaement in 3 of the 7 slides. Emmylou is one of us.
