The Automation emerged in 2011 with their first EP. 5 tracks recorded over that year at MOPUS STUDIOS, Nelson BC. The soundscapes vary from vibrant new wave textures to the dark aspects of early punk rock. Olio Fest Vancouver was quoted, "an Ed Wood meets Gang of Four ride" in describing the band.... a quote we can defiantly live with.
The EP received 2 awards at the KMA's in BC and can be found on iTUNES. A few shows later they were back in the studio for the follow up LP which launched the new release "Awake" in Feb. 2013. A single that has received national Airplay and a serious buzz. The Automation's new album to drop May 2013.....stay tuned.
Music from the Automation has appeared on RED BULL's Stomping grounds, ABSINTHE FILM's Flipside Series, and many other films. 2012 KMA's (kootenay music awards): Best New Band and Best Album. Airplay on most college radio stations making the top 20 on the earshot charts for most western canadian stations.
