If you find yourself participating in a whistling contest, shaking small percussive instruments or imitating a car horn with your voice you might be in kindergarten..... or you might be engaged in crowd participation at one of Shera Kelly's shows. " I like involving the audience when I perform. I like to feel that I have connected with the people that I am sharing my songs with by interacting with them rather than just singing at them. When an audience comes to see me they don’t know what to expect and I want to have a fun time with them.” But do not be fooled. Shera is as serious as she is silly and shortly following a crowd clap along, you’ll hear songs with pure melodies and dynamic style. What separates Shera from other songwriters is her ability to strongly communicate life’s joy and heartbreak with both wit and grace. Shera Kelly and Her Lovely Band recently released her album A Bicycle Commuters Anthem to a sold out crowd at the Media Club in Vancouver BC.

Wheely Slow Cooking Tour

April 20th 2011- Wheely Slow Musical Cooking Tour Dates- Hi Everyone! I am heading on tour in June with the wonderful Julia Spitale. We came up with this idea of trying to incorporate our other favorite passtimes with this tour. For Julia, it's cooking, and for myself it's bicycles. So while we are on tour expect to hear posts and blogs of Julia's cooking experiments (along the way she plans to cook our hosts meals from scratch with interesting ingredients!) and some bike tours through some of the towns we are playing in. As for the name for the tour....Julia and I both have been inspired to try and live our lives at a bit of a slower pace lately and what better a way to live a slower pace than by cooking, cycling and playing music?
