biographical info

Toronto's northamorica makes music that is dirty and heavy like an overweight construction worker yet remains catchy and killer like the old people flu. Drawing influence from riff and hook based bands like Queens of the Stone Age, The Dead Weather and pioneer riff-rocker Raffi, over-driven guitar riffs, vocal hooks and melodies are layered atop a loud and fuzzy rhythm section.

Following one EP release, a bunch of Ontario shows and some personnel changes, the band ended up with two beards, one clean face, and a pile of new music. After quickly considering their song direction, physical appearance and lack of dance abilities, the band had to face the harsh realization that boy-band stardom was likely unattainable.

The trio, consisting of Bernard Taylor, Brad Kilpatrick and Justin Mahoney, spent the winter months demoing and recording the material which comprises their averagely-anticipated sophomore album. The full-length LP "feelin' so city", released in summer 2011, is available online through iTunes and Bandcamp.

city driving

posted by northamorica
I was in the drivers seat of a car but there was a girl in the backseat who was somehow doing the driving. We were driving in a city and I was thinking how great it was that I was sitting in the driver's seat but I could sit back and enjoy the ride. Didn't have to think about driving through the city traffic.
