iDEO is the culmination of approximately 12 years of a particular anti-social miscreant playing, producing, tweaking, and generally messing with music of all sorts. It all started with stolen noises from Warcraft 1 edited into dance beats on a 486DX266 (now known as a "pre-Pentium doorstop") running Impulse Tracker. The evolved sound of iDEO draws on live instrumentation, original vocals, and carefully processed / reworked samples of all types of music. Listen and you will hear a hundred tiny, barely distinguishable shards of music you already know in each song. iDEO believes that sampling is a basic information right. There is no such thing as 100% original art. All art is a product of digested social and sensory input, i.e. sampling. Unoriginal art, aka plagiarism, (e.g. Disney or P. Diddy) takes complete works of art from others and superficially redresses them. Original art draws themes and uses small pieces of other art to create a distinctive piece. Sampling describes both and is misunderstood by a generation that thinks a record and a mp3 file are pretty much the same thing.
