biographical info
Frolicking somewhere between the dusty vintage past and the psychedelic rafters of the future, Buffaloswans are a 5 piece beast from Vancouver, BC who play in the fields and forests of Cosmic American Music. Our debut record, 'Buffaloswans', has so far been independently released by ourselves at local record stores in Vancouver.
We are on the verge of releasing our second studio album, 'The Body Electric', a full length post-modern exercise in beauty, atmosphere, space, consciousness, and love.
Our first album can be bought at record stores in Vancouver or via mailorder. Write us a message if you would like one!!!

"['Buffaloswans'] is a record that should sit alongside the work of The Band in the annals of strong Canadian Americana, and its release comes just in time for the Late Fall of Buffalowans, currently underway." -Saidthegramophone
"Chalk up yet another great record from our vibrant local music scene... relaxing pedal steel workouts, Crazy horse barnburner jams & Americana imagery that speeds you down the highways of central Ohio through a blurry haze of rusty farm implements & sonic revelations." - RedCat Records
"The Buffaloswans are that if anything, soulful. Its honest and meaningful and sincere. You recognize it instantly because you know its speaking to you on some intimate level, its music conjuring up what you thought were your own dark secrets, and you’re always a little surprised and relieved that its just part of the human condition. That’s why you connect to it, because we’re all a part of it, and that’s what I felt when I listened to their music. Lovely melodies, harmonies, guitar lines." - Onward Voyageur
"Inspiration for the band grows from the soil of the praries, a 60’s style of bluesy, country-rock reminiscent of a lazy night with a southern breeze. Twangy guitars and a friendly piano, mix with the rhythm to provide a melody designed to pacify the soul... lyrically the band delves into the mysteries of life and earth. Their self-titled debut album focuses greatly on the duality of life and our relationships with the world. It’s a heartening reminder that in a time where our planet might seem to be falling apart, there is a stronger force bringing people together all around us if we’re buoyant enough to notice." - The Examiner
