In August of 2009, after years of pressure from fans, Brian released his first full length studio CD
“....evocative and sincere....” Scene Magazine
Brian Dale’s debut CD “peace/love/wave/song features 11 original songs chosen from a collection of songs written over the past 15 years. A storyteller in the the tradition of Jim Croce or Harry Chapin, Brian brings a fresh and unique voice to the Canadian music scene. His music eludes definition, effortlessly floating between the genres of folk, country, adult contemporary and pop/rock. Fans range in age from 5 years old to 95 years young. This is music that bridges the gaps between generations.
Described in one word---- timeless.
"Very early on in the recording process we recognized that these songs had CBC written all over them. They are stories full of family, love, heartache and Canadiana. This album could very easily have become full blown, new country with the addition of fiddles and steel guitars. Or it could just as easily have turned into a straight-up pop album with orchestration and more layering. After much soul searching and weighing of the commercial implications, we decided to stay true to each song’s origins; simple and from the heart." - brian dale
Born to a working class family in rural Ontario in the early 70's, Brian Dale grew up in the golden age of the singer/songwriter. Singing in the high school choir led to a brief stint as lead singer in a couple of local bands. He received his first guitar as a high school graduation gift and spent the next few years teaching himself to play with friends, around campfires and at house parties. In 1994 brian took a leave of absence from his job to spend the summer performing in the resort town of Grand Bend, Ontario and he has never looked back.
With nothing but an acoustic guitar and his voice Brian has averaged over 100 shows each of the past 15 summers in southern Ontario. As an avid skier, snowboarder and surfer, Brian has spent winters performing in British Columbia, Australia, Mexico and most recently, Costa Rica.
