biographical info

ZiNGALO started out as a writing goup from Barrie, Ont. called GHR writing.  Consisting of Dave Renton, Jas Carvin, and Bob Grifith.  When Pat Scott (bass guitar) and Ted Hill (drums) joined, it was clear that the songs that Dave, Jas and Bob had written, would just never sound right with someone else playing them. Bob droped out early in the relationship, but the rest of us have become ZiNGALO

We all have such different influences.  We thought, how can this work.  Jas Carvin, a blues player with a Stevie Ray influence, Dave Renton big in the style of Beatles, and seventies rock, Ted Hill a classic rocker, with Stepenwolf, and April Wine influences, and Pat Scott, former Bassist for heavey metal band Darxide.  But when we put it together, it was a whole new sound. Rocky, but with a huge back beat.  A ton of guitar, but with a grawly bass line.

With well over 30 songs written, the first 4 songs in the can and recorded, 2 have been submitted to Radio 3 for rotation play. Nasty Girls, inspired by the late night saturday night downtown partiers in Barrie, Ont. our home town, and Minus Nine, inspired by the worst snow storm the winter of 2010 saw, and a truely Canadian way of dealing with weather like that  .. well listen, you'll see what I mean :)

People seem to have a hard time not dancing or tapping a foot, or singing along to this music, and we hope to release an album in Spring of 2012

We hope you will enjoy it
