biographical info

Zane began writing music at a very young age and he had played with a few different bands a long the way. Never really finding people that meshed with his "vision". He started this solo project to get the music in his head out for others to hear. Zane was not expecting a big reaction to his music at first but surprisingly to him, it now has a small following now. Zane's songs have been played on College radio, local clubs and even get played regularly at discos in Spain. Zane says "I do not try to sound like anything else out there, I just take the sounds out of my head and record them". For something a little less mainstream give Zane Thorne a listen. The awaited debut CD should be available in the Fall of '06, keep checking back for details.

New Music Uploaded and subtle rant.

posted by Zane Thorne
I have been a member of this site for a while now and I guess I havent blogged anything on here yet. The world is a busy place and I guess I did not find the time. But I really wanted to. I uploaded a couple of new songs to my profile this week. The first one is titled Failure of Success and the second one is titled Sometimes I Want To. So check out my music if you havent yet. I would prefer you to check out the newest songs first. With that out of the way. I would like to talk a little bit about Canadian music. Canadian musicians have been paving the way for artists around the world with innovative new sounds and styles plus some amazing musicians and producers. Our musical styles vary in sound and Canadian artists always seem to bring something new to the table. Of course we also have some cookie cutter pop bands but hey labels need to make money and I guess that is what sells. Our culture in Canada is very supportive of independant musicians and I think this is a good reason why Indie artists can have fun and make money in Canada and around the world. I have composed music for film outside of Canada and there seems to be a lot of respect for Canadian composers and I have noticed that directors always compliment how easy us Canadians are to get along with. So I guess in my rant what I am trying to say is... It is good to be a Canadian in the music industry.
