biographical info

Zachary Lucky is a patriot. Born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - he was never one to wander to far off the beaten track - until he showed up on the Canadian music circuit in August of 2010 with his debut full length recording "Come and Gone." "Striking and beautifully crafted, the songs on Zachary Lucky's debut album reveal a talent for melody and a newfound confidence - Come & Gone is an enticingly brief, but highly auspicious debut" said exclaim.ca.

After spending nearly two years in the shadows Zachary Lucky is back with the much anticipated release "Saskatchewan." Saskatchewan is a patchwork of words, melodies and stories entrenched in all that Saskatchewan is. Songs written about Saskatchewan and for Saskatchewan.

"Come & Gone is an enticingly brief, but highly auspicious debut" - Exclaim.ca

"This record, much like your favorite plaid shirt or old couch you still love to sleep on, might not seem like much but you’ll be surprised how much you miss it when it’s gone."  - Herohill

"If you only have one thing to say about Saskatchewan’s Zachary Lucky; this guy is a very hard working folk singer. In the last two years Lucky has released close to half a dozen eps, and has crossed the country as many times. If you have one more thing to say about Zachary Lucky; this guy is a good song writer." - The Kite

"Silky smooth vocals full and warm laced with a contrasting edge...paired with the gentle yet full sound of his acoustic guitar. The combination pulls you in and takes you on the journey...a journey you don't want to miss a moment of.  Open and honest emotion and intelligent song writing....a very intriguing Saskatchewan talent!" - Gateway Music Festival

"Always a gentleman, and a musical talent that grows day by day, Zachary Lucky is an artist that this country can be proud of. An up and coming folk talent from The Prairies that may well be a household name very soon."
- Island Soap box

three weeks into tour, on a couch in peterborough, on.

Dear friends, I hope this is find you well.  All in all - I myself am pretty well.  I awoke, lying sideways on a couch in peterborough, on - awoke by the rays of sun.  We've been on tour now for pretty much three weeks.  I don't know if it seems that long, but when I stop and think about it - there are already a lot of memories - and many more to come I am sure.  For those of you who have been following what we've been up to - after the release of Saskatchewan we started the long run of shows in regina then winnipeg and kenora - and so on.  We spent all of last week touring around southern ontario with a good friend of ours, Jos Fortin.  It was one of those weeks where the shows themselves were not the best - but the times had were memories made.  We enjoyed singing songs for the people who lent their ears to us.  We then spent the last weekend in toronto - partaking in the festivities that are canadian music week.  It was my second swing of the bat at cmw and we had a time, for sure.  Since departing from the great metropolis we've been laying low and taking up couch residence in peterborough.  Its been a nice few days - hazy mornings - late nights - in the company of friends and felines.  I must say though, as nice as it is to rest, you know what they say - "If you rest - you rust." Or at least Joel Plaskett said that once.  I'm getting quite excited for the coming weeks - the east coast has become a second home for me.  We'll be playing shows all through out Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.  I can't wait.  Other then the news of the travels, lots of exciting things are happening.  We recently filmed a video with some nice folks called Street Folk Sessions - you can see that video here:  http://vimeo.com/39078155.  I also was looking at some college radio charts this morning and saw that Saskatchewan has begun to chart in a few different cities around Canada.  Super exciting news. I'm glad you guys and gals are liking the new songs.  I think thats all I have to say for now.  Hopefully our paths cross wherever you may be - near or far, I'm sure we'll be singing songs in your neck of the woods at some point.  Until then - happy trails friends,Zachary.
