biographical info
New record, Apostrophe Catastrophe, now on iTunes!
The facts:
Yukon Cigar was founded in 2006. Following a few rehearsals, a recording session at Chemical Sound Studio was had.
The resulting demo, Spooning Noise From A Moose In A Jar, was released (electronically) in 2007.
The band has played top Toronto clubs, including Cameron House, C'est What?, El Mocambo, Mitzi's Sister and Rancho Relaxo. And the awesome NXNE festival (twice!).
The name Yukon Cigar can be taken literally: Our Twitter following comprises several cigar dealers and enthusiasts. Our name can be taken figuratively: Apparently, cigar-shaped UFOs have been spotted over the Yukon. However it's interpreted, people seem to like it.
We play well with others, and we play others' well. Craig and Peter sometimes appear as Yukon Cigar & The Beep Truck Revue—all covers from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 90s and 00s. Matt also plays in the B.A. Baracus Band—80s covers, exclusively.
No member of Yukon Cigar has ever visited the Yukon.
There are countless songs in the fire. Here lies the promise of sweet sounds to come.
