Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of he most famous and revered composers of all time.
He was born in January, 1756, and his prodigious ability was clear during his earliest childhood in Salzburg, and he began composing at the age of five. By he age of 17, he was a court musician in Salzburg.
During his lifetime, he composed over 600 works, many of which are considered pinacles of symphonic, chamber, operatic an choral music.
Joseph Haydn wrote that "posterity will not see such a talent again in 100 years."
Mozart died in 1791 at the age of 35, possibly from influenza or some other form of fever.
His works continue to be performed around the world, and his life has been the subject of art, literature and even Hollywood films.
