biographical info
Voltage Control (VCon) began as the Synthetica recordings -- a
selection of electronic, semi-ambient, bassline-driven music.
These soundscapes were composed by Jared (Nebulous) Brookes.
Nebulous later teamed up with Rod Dornian and Russ Magee, to
create the Voltage Control project, thus taking Synthetica to a
beat-driven atmosphere, while retaining the darkly melodic feel
of the original Synthetica recordings.
It is difficult to classify Voltage Control -- and so it should be.
This is a project that reveals a vast range of influences, with
arrangements that break away from the patterns and rigid musical
templates that have dominated mainstream music for decades.
In 2008, Scott (Smoth) Johns of Mannequin Depressives was added to the VCon line-up, and a third VCon album is currently being recorded. May this music take you places you've never been --
yet will be again.
