Hailing from the sunny Okanagan, Tristan Charbonneau is a funk-driven music festival baby, constantly surrounded by the sights, sounds and sensations of music's rawest form: Jamming.
From the moment this intrepid young songwriter began playing music, he was doing so in the company of friends. In his six year career he has played with acts such as Orion's Belt, the Renovation and most recently Strawberry Jam. Through these groups, he learned to look at music in different ways, to hear every song with open ears.
Acoustically, Tristan has created a sound that combines the beats and rhythms of dancehall, funk and pop with the jerking melodies and heartfelt lyricism found in soul and blues. This amalgamation of physical presence and emotional expression brings to life the subjects and themes of his work.
Above all, the emphasis has always been, and remains the exploration and growth of the creative process, with an intimate and interactive relationship between performer and listener.
