Tricot machine first started to bloom at the end of 2004 when Catherine Leduc and Matthieu Beaumont decided to elaborate a music project. The duo asked for the help of Daniel, Matthieu’s brother for the lyrics. It’s only in the summer of 2005 when Daniel wins for best songwriter at the Petite-Vallée Festival that the music project really took form. A 9 piano-voice tracks demo will then be made and distributed to friends and family. This same demo will lend in the hands of David Brunet who will produce their first album. On March 20th 2007 Grosse Boîte release Tricot machine’s first album.
Tricot machine’s lyrics are about their own world made of childhood memories, the first snow and few animals of the forest. Catherine and Matthieu are a real couple in life and sing about their everyday life with a touching simplicity. Keep your heart wide open for Tricot machine!
