Born into a large working poor family from the ridge country of the Manitoba Interlake district in west-central Canada, Tim Harwill dreamed of a personal brand of countrified roots music before the on-set of adult life while at the feet of an assortment of his musical brethren. Hitting the road as a teen, lost years and countless miles of relentless touring have delivered a compelling live performer and critically acclaimed songwriter with an expansive catalogue of uplifting original Americana songs and an unforgettable voice. Which the 12-string troubadour delivers with an astonishingly pure emotional commitment, unabashedly rooted in country music’s past while embracing the power of 21st century recording technology in order to demonstrate his commitment to a bold musical ethos.
With a passionate live performing style that evokes favorable comparison to the great voices of the past, he defines the term ‘throwback’, while as producer he delivers an unerringly authentic recorded sound that holds to a unique and demanding creative vision. Wedding early-20th century recording techniques with the best elements of the early-21st century post-production environment, he has crafted a growing body of truly independent recordings that effectively capture the simple beauty found in the best of roots music. Fueled by a rare combination of great songs and a uniquely compelling voice, Tim Harwill consistently delivers one of the most honest live and recorded performances in music today.
