Made up of former members of WPP, The Organ, and Treacherous Machete, Tight Solid does nothing to dissuade from the sneaking suspicion that three buddies named their friendship instead of their band.
"Live shows and recordings are comparable to an out-of-control freight train speeding down the track with an alacrity that alarms but rarely careens into fiery destruction. On such feverishly dark songs as ‘Ode to the Devil’ Burnside’s unmistakable croon becomes a sing-shout frantically fighting to keep up with the fast-paced tempo that Ryan Walter Wagner and Shmoo Ritchie set for him on drums and bass. The palpable undercurrent of anarchy and earnestness is offset by optimism and flippancy- Wagner’s penchant for unpredictable heckling (whether aimed at the crowd or lead singer Burnside) is proof enough that this is a group in no danger of losing their sense of humor."
"With a deviant mélange of straight-up rock-and-roll, self-proclaimed pop influences like Sinead O’Conner covering Prince, and recurrent classic Faustian themes, Tight Solid is nothing if not visceral, eager, and to be perfectly frank, meeting up to the latter part of their name, if not always the former."
