Tariq and NMC gives us the luuuv!Comprised of members from Vancouver favorites, Feisty and The Mean
Reds, The Western Investor has just finished their first album, This
Beautiful Town. So when you think about it, the band has been around for nearly 10 years. But it kinda hasn't.
The Western Investor are four old friends who get together once a month or so to catch up, make noise, drink beer and write songs. And every three years or so those songs add up to a record, their most recent effort being "This Beautiful Town".
They're older now and a bit lazier and they make the odd mistake, but they don't care so much because there are just more important things to worry about. And you can tell that they appreciate more than ever that playing in a band really is the best thing ever.
Soundwise they rip off their favourite bands in the most honest and respectful way possible, and they end up playing quiet melodic pop that's sometimes cynical, sometimes humorous, and sometimes quite sad really.
And they're really fucking good, so come on out and invest in the west.
