biographical info

The Weather Station is the project of Tamara Lindeman.  Her sophomore album, coming out on You've Changed Records in August, was written in a portable on Toronto Island, and then recorded by Daniel Romano on a digital 8 track in a matter of days.   The album marks a transition for Lindeman away from the expansive soundscapes that characterised her debut, and towards a simpler, warmer, more contained sound.   The recordings are simple, unedited, unaffected, for the songs needed nothing more than to be played, and sung.   They capture nothing more and nothing less than a couple musicians playing guitars in a basement in Welland, a shift on the cusp of occurring, a moment in time.

Lindeman’s first album, The Line, received praise from The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Exclaim, Torontoist, and countless blogs all over the world.  Supported by a tour with Timber Timbre, it received significant airplay on NPR, CBC, college radio.  Lindeman has played Halifax Pop, NXNE, CMW, pretty much every venue in Toronto, and plenty all over Canada too.  She is also a member of Bruce Peninsula.
