With a membership that's been spending the past few years contributing mightily to Montreal's burgeoning roots scene, there was bound to be a fair dose of country in their debut record, that's no surprise. What is surprising is the mix of all the other influences that have ended up on Fresh Pint, due out in March of 2008. Tex-Mex, klezmer and an occassional stark Mittel-European vibe cheek by jowl with the East Coast-tinged agit-prop add up to 11 songs of refreshing diversity./////////// Les trois membres de The Slaters ont plus de 40 ans d'experience collectivement dans les scènes musicaux à Montréal, Vancouver et Berlin et ils ont apporté tout ça à l'enregistrement de leur debut, Fresh Pint. Un mélange de ce qu'on peut qualifier comme le folk nord americain, dont celtique, country, blues, Tex Mex et klezmer, le disque représente un contribution original au paysage musical de Montréal et ailleurs.
