biographical info
SWB recorded their first record, a 6-song EP entitled "Dear John" live off the floor at St. John's Anglican Church in Blackstock, ON. The SWB hopes for an exstensive tour of the Canadian and international festival circuit in the near future.
The Shotgun Wedding Band, hereafter referred to as the SWB, was formed in the fall of 2008. Scotty Montgomery (bass, vocals) had been performing for several years with Toronto singer/songwriter Peter Katz. James Plouffe (songwriter, vocals, guitar) had been singing and songwriting for The Unionist Ministers with appearances across Ontario and Quebec. Classically trained and rock 'n roll loving violinist raha made appearances with both bands. Scotty, James and raha also appeared at each other's solo performances for years before they decided to put together a collective project that would incorporate them all. Isaac Klein (Little Foot, Long Foot) was an easy choice for a drummer after original member Max Power (Unionist Ministers) decided to leave the band. Scotty Montgomery left the band to join Greg Cockerill in early 2011 and longtime friend of Raha's, Shael Fox (The 3Tards, Crush Luther) stepped in to fill the void. Issac Klein left soon after as work with Little Foot Long Foot intensified and was superceded by Tai Timbers (The Derelicts, Colour TV in Every Room).
