biographical info

It’s hard to believe  The Prince Brothers have been cranking out power pop tunes for almost 15 years. They will commemorate this with the release of their fifth album, Thursday Night Bingo, on December 20, through iTunes.

Over the past decade and a half, The Prince Brothers have  become a bona fide name on the Toronto music scene. Beginning in 1997,  Eric Prince (guitar/vocals), and Bryan Prince (drums/vocals) left their respective bands to join forces and as they say, the rest is Toronto rock history.

The Prince Brothers along with bassist Chris Osti, keys player Ben Kobayashi and guitarist David Paoli, recorded Thursday Night Bingo in their individual Toronto and over-seas studios. With the song writing process  intact, each member contributed their parts to the 7 song album; played live and over the internet.  Tunes that take us on a musical ride through 'The Brothers' songbook. From rockers like ‘Bruise’, to the carny rock hoe-downs of ‘I Must Be Dreaming’ and ‘Dial Tone’. The album’s songs flow from genre to genre,  warm organic sounds that put them in a unique place for a pop rock band. Usually these adjectives are reserved for artists that dwell in folksier territory but, The Prince Brothers take those roots and accentuate them with grand choruses and addictive hooks.

Thursday Night Bingo,  is a collection of singles that have been released over the past two years,  plus brand new track "Dream To Me". Also included in the set is the CBC radio hit "In Pairs". Thursday Night Bingo is the bands  fifth album and first one released digitally.

Thursday Night Bingo was self produced by The Prince Brothers and mixed by Canadian producer/musician Michael Phillip Wojewoda.  This is the second release the brothers and Wojewoda have collaborated on. Guest musicians on the record include; Nova Scotia pop artist Melanie Doane, lending her fiddle to the song "Dial Tone". Toronto musician, Derek Downham (The Beauties) plays drums on the same song and Jennifer LFO sings back up vocals throughout.

"Most of these songs were written 10 years ago.” said Bryan Prince “My songs on this record were an attempt to explore songs that got left behind." In the end, you can't escape that Prince Brothers sound.
