biographical info
The Powergoats have been spotlighted on CBC Radio One, Live 88.5 FM, CHUO FM and 101.9 DAWG FM. On July 8th 2011 They opened for Rise Against on the Claridge Mainstage at the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest alternating with Cage the Elephant and The Black Keys (they also enjoyed a spot at the renowned festival in 2010).
The Powergoats are an Ottawa-based indie band formed in 2008 by songwriters Jamie Douglas and David Hart. Both are from Hamilton Ontario, each now calling Ottawa their home. Having already completed two self-recorded albums with store placement for over two and a half years (2008’s Chrome Libido and 2010’s Moonlit Crimes). Their third release "Bottled Sunset" is a seven-track EP due on March 30th, 2012.
With their strong blues-rock influences intact, they've added hypnotic, energetically soothing funk into their new material. The Powergoats are ready to move aggressively forward into the music industry reflecting vibes from bands like The Rolling Stones, The Black Keys, The Allman Brothers and Blue Rodeo with a more modern, hard-hitting edge.
