biographical info
The Peelies are an all-girl band inspired by a mean goddess who throws fire and dance parties. It must be their Raincoats-like swagger, or maybe their perfect mix of French yéyé, punk technique (or lack of) and garage sing-along melodies, but they just haven't stop playing since they formed in 2009. They went to SXSW, NXNE and CMW and all those great industry gatherings where you run everywhere and eat beef jerky. They LOVE beef jerky. For some reason, each time they put on a show, the crowd starts chanting "We are the world, we are The Peelies" in perfect harmony. We believe it's magic. Johnson Cummins from Montreal's Mirror described them best "If you miss Teen Beat and K Records’ glory days, and have a hankering for some Grade A garage punk laced with ’60s fuzz, The Peelies will not disappoint."
