The Natural Shocks, as a concept, came into existence several years ago: Jim worked at a new media company with Jeff, and they bonded over a mutual disdain for spirituality, and a mutual appreciation for science-fiction novels and imitation seafood. After exiting previous band The Ghost is Dancing and working through side-projects, Jim got serious about finishing his new material. Jeff signed on for the role of "bass player / long-suffering sidekick" and the inevitable Quest For Drums began.
Flash forward a year, and Andrew arrives in Toronto, still drunk and without a place to live. Through a series of fortunate events, he is recruited for the part of "steadfast cymbal-master". His virtuosity in practice lays the groundwork for their energetic writing and performances. Everyone is currently happy.
They are set to release their debut LP June 9th, 2011
