biographical info
The three charming young women that form The Musettes met at Canterbury High School, where they graduated from the vocal arts program. The Musettes music is a cheerful blend of harmonized vocals, ukulele, acoustic guitar and the fiddle that has been compared to The Wailin’ Jennys and The Good Lovelies.
Rachel, Laura and Meaghan provide a unique blend of down to earth charm and musical talent. These girls have graced audiences throughout the Ottawa area and have held performances everywhere from the sidewalks of the Byward Market to the elegant ballrooms of the Chateau Laurier. Last summer, and again in May, they were featured in the Zaphod Beeblebrox Up and Coming Performer's Showcase alongside such artists as Christina-Maria. Recently, the girls won the Galaxy Rising Stars Award and secured a spot playing in the Ottawa Folk Festival in August 2010 where they had the chance to play alongside Robyn Dell'Unto as well as lend their fiddler, Meaghan, to Craig Cardiff for his most recent Juno-nominated album.
They will be playing at the Ontario festival Blue Skies in August 2012 and forsee many shows in the Ottawa area in the upcoming months!
