biographical info
The Maevens are a folk/pop/rock band that met in 2004. Members Kelly Burrows, Graydon James and Jason Lapidus have been making a name for themselves in Torontos folk music scene, playing such venues as The Horseshoe Tavern, The Rivoli and the Cameron House.
The Maevens keep their audiences guessing with songs that range from introspective and sultry, to imaginative and quirky and back again. Influenced by musicians such as Sarah Harmer, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, acoustic Neil Young and Coldplay. The Maevens style is at once relaxed and intense, inviting their audiences to take a ride with them, guided by Burrows melodic tones.
Following the success of their first 2 EP's, Dangerous Place (2006) and Halfway Again (2005), they released their 3rd EP, Ragamuffin (2007).
Their chemistry is undeniable and the result is music that resonates with a wide range of listeners.
