biographical info
Dig deep into your memories of lonely highway diners and jukeboxes
playing melancholy love songs. Now taint that with smoky jazz lounges
and traveling vaudeville shows and you have the Madman's Gospel. When
forces bring together a rich and vivacious songstress, a guitar player
with a distinct 50's flare, a metal-edged bassist, a progressive
drummer and the infamous James Minchau ~ the resulting musical
experience is an exciting ride that is not to be missed!
This
dynamic quintet formed in Vancouver, BC in 2009 and their self-titled
debut album will be released in October 2010. Taking the lead from
landmark Canadian bands such as the New Pornographers and the Cowboy
Junkies, the Madman's Gospel employs simple and honest songwriting
spiked with contemporary sounds & styles. With lyrics that range
from heart wrenching to downright saucy and energetic live performances
- even the non-believers will soon be preaching the Madman's Gospel.
