biographical info

The Lazy MKs are an instrumental “post-country” band from Regina featuring steel guitar, bass and drums. The new full length record "Where We Bin" is being released to radio nationally in September 2011.While the MKs first release “A Field Guide To...” was released on Regina’s Young Soul Records (former home to Rah Rah, Library Voices), the new release is out on 13th Avenue Records, home to what has been dubbed the “Sunset Sound” including such acts as Belle Plaine and B.D. Willoughby. The new record features the MKs with a wide array of guests including backup-vocalists and a three piece horn section. The songs continue the band’s path of telling stories through instrumental numbers.
Since its release in March 2009, their debut EP, “A Field Guide To...“ charted for six weeks on college and community radio and was number 144 on the August Earshot national charts. A lap steel tune, "Granum Fire "was featured as a "song of the day" on CBC3 and the tearjerker tune "Young and Sad" was in regular rotation for over 3 months. To top the year off, the EP's artwork was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award!
