biographical info
The band's origins go back to Humber College where all were members of the school's prestigious faculty of music. Kevin Howley's experiences at Humber and in Toronto have exposed him to an expansive variety of musical styles that have influenced both his writing and musical direction. Aside from being a major player in the live shows of notable Toronto groups including Ray Robinson, Opinion, Dagger, Tom Phoolery, and Nautilus, Kevin’s work as a solo artist has been rapidly developing within Toronto’s flourishing live music scene. His primary focus now however, is to develop a fuller sound to broaden the scope of his live performances as well as to offer a different environment in which his music can be heard. This sound has come to be known as “The Project” – a continual progression of experimentation, discovery, and enlightenment. The Project consists of Toronto heavyweights: drummer Josh Vantassel, Rhodes specialist Sean Nimmons, bassist Ryan Farley, and guitar virtuoso Tristan Clark.
Possessing such a potent musical concoction, The Kevin Howley Project has quickly created a massive buzz around the Toronto area, and has overfilled venues such as the Cameron House, Holy Joe's, and Sneaky Dee’s. And this is merely the beginning; as The Project continues to evolve, all the elements that have made it a refreshing and popular sound in Toronto’s live music scene will certainly turn heads the world over.
