biographical info
Born in Toronto's east end at Co-op Musical Machine Studios, The John Holmes Book Club formed when Cameron Switzer (vocals/guitar) and Len Hudson (drums) decided to start jamming together. They soon relized that they had enough songs to start a band, and added Phil Garner on guitar, a former roomate of Switzer's while he was living in Windsor, Ontario.
After a year with this new encarnation, The John Holmes Book Club had a full set of songs, but no permanent bassist. They eventually added Gustavo Granados-Ocon (another former roommate of Switzer's) on bass to fill out the line up.
In under a year, The John Holmes Book Club have played shows all over Toronto, at venues like The Boat & Rancho Relaxo and have played with esteemed acts like Pick A Piper, Tripping Hazard, Bella Clava, Papa's Delicate Condition.
The John Holmes Book Club have also finished recording their debut EP at Co-op Musical Machine Studios with Jezla of Raised Emotionally Dead, which will be released in June 2010.
