biographical info

Nearly 6 years passed before the internal tension that fused satirical art-rockers kitchens & bathrooms eventually killed the band (close, but not literally). After 5 tours in 2-and-a-half years, 3 full-length albums and 2 onstage fistfights, and 1000 bottles of Labatt 50, the band expired. Phil Williams soon became anxious concerning who would play a half-written album with him – and drive his ass across Canada. Matt Fleming of Hoosier Poet was the first solid answer. Adrian Murchison, was intrigued by the prospects of a “straight-up-rock-band”. Nick Daleo, the drummer responsible for the aforementioned decibel crushing, happily joined the three in writing what came to be The Inflation Kills’ first dark melodic rock album. After 4 months of working diligently, the band embarked on a two-week road trip of the Canadian East Coast. The trip fuelled the band to return to hometown Hamilton, Ontario and blow the blue collars off of folks. After playing the Hamilton area with the likes of From Fiction, The Constantines and Despistado, the band drove to Chicago, Illinois, to track with producer-ex-HUM- member Matt Talbott. The band spent 4 days at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio, and 3 days in Great Western Record Recorders, Matt’s own studio, where veterans Shiner had tracked The Egg. The end result is a snapshot of dirty harmonies, gracefully delicate dissonance, and triumphant melodies. AVAILABLE through TikTokTikTok MUSIC! and Sonic Unyon Distribution. www.sonicunyon.com
