biographical info
The Great Outdoors started as the musings of singer/songwriter Adam Nation. He took 12 unconventional songs in 2000 and mashed them up with street noise, conversations and bird song. In 2005 he released the second album, A Scant Sixty-Three and put together a touring band. Many players found themselves adding to the sessions as the record evolved and more layers were added. In 2007 the third record was released, titled, Food, Booze and Entertainment.
In the past two years The Great Outdoors have grown to include the songwriting of Steve Wells and just lately, Randy Forester. In 2008 the band released four seasonally themed EPs comprising of three to five songs. 2009 was a pretty quiet year for the boys but in 2010 they have released both 'Nanton Live' and 'The Belvedere Half Court' with Kingsway.
