biographical info
The Februarys began shortly after Matthew Gibson (lead guitar) and Lucas Lawrence (vocals and guitar) met in PE class. Starting as an acoustic project, the band slowly formed into a full time rock band a few years later. After recording an EP and playing a few shows here and there, things finally started to take off. Sharing the stage with Limblifter caught the attention of artists such as Tegan & Sara and Matthew Good. In 2004 The Februarys recorded a 10 song album at Vancouver's Mushroom Studios. Shortly after, the band line up was solidified with Matthew Bender on the drums, and Brodie Tavares on bass guitar. Touring western Canada over a dozen times, The Febs have played with such bands as Alexisonfire, Sparta, City and Color, and Misery Signals. Through relentless touring, The Februarys are constantly and consistantly building an enthusiastic nationwide fanbase. In the summer of 2006, they released an EP entitled "All the Time in the World" featuring 5 songs recorded all over the country. Over the past winter, The Febs completed a 13 song album that is yet to be released. The unreleased album, "We'll Find Our Own Way Home", projects a more mature attitude towards songwriting, while still keeping the fun and energetic attitude that Februarys fans love.
