biographical info
The Devil's Half Acre is a rock and roll outfit from Halifax, NS.
A driving rhythm section is the backbone to this quartet, showcasing strong songwriting and complimentary lead instruments.
What started out as a solo acoustic guitar and harmonica arrangement influenced by Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Townes Van Zandt has now broadened to a full band; resulting in a full length LP titled "Introducing The Devil's Half Acre" (Shiretown Records, 2010).
After the challenges of several lineup changes, The Devil's Half Acre, consisting of lead singer/songwriter Chase Ross on guitar and harmonica; Zach Bethune on guitar; Stan Selig on bass; and drummer Sean Skerry, is more then ready to showcase some newfound chemistry and an exciting on-stage presence.
On December 7 2011 they released "The Town", a new EP inspired by and written about the town of Kentville.
The first single, the rocking ballad “River Street” conjures up Darkness… era Bruce Springsteen. With a song ending guitar solo and vocal wail that screams Pearl Jam, each member of The Devil’s Half Acre wear their influences on their sleeves.
With folk influenced rock and roll songs, The Devil's Half Acre is a band that deserves a listen.
