The Buttless Chaps
Formed in 1998 in Victoria, the Chaps recently made the leap to Vancouver in order to reach a wider audience. Since their inception the Chaps have played for audiences across the country and have created three studio albums of music that almost everyone has a hard time putting a label on. All songwriting is done as a collaborative effort and, according to Mike Usinger (Georgia Straight, March 29, 2001) the result is “fiercely original, often breathtaking stuff.”
The principle tenets of the band have been to have fun and to place absolutely no limits on their musical wanderings. The Band has recently completed their third cross Canada tour and are currently working on material for their fourth album, with plans to tour festivals and clubs in 2002.
