biographical info

The Big Bad officially came to be on June 6th 2006.  Through an ad placed in the Georgia Straight drummer Geoffrey Stratton (Last in Line, Red Scare) and singer/guitar player Gitta Ziercke (Ester, Empty) found bassist Mike Bowd (the dinks). The two became three and the trio began to create their ownbrand of straight ahead, catchy, melody driven punk rock n roll that blew their socks off.  The musical chemistry caused them to fall madly in love with one another and write a plethora of songs.  Combining the style of their favourite bands (Ramones, QOTSA, distillers, Social DIstortion etc.) they gave birth to a sound not unlike the wailing of Joan Jett and Lemmy's love child. A few short months after forming, the Big Bad got out of the jam room and onto the stage.  Establishing themselves as a live band at Vancouver venus such as the Lamplighter, the Pic, Pub340, the Columbia, the Marine club etc.  With the songs piling up the Big Bad entered the studio and recorded their first EP.  Produced by Steve Bowd at Lab Monkey Studios the Middle of the Night EP was released on February 9th 2007. Undertaking all the promotion for the record themselves the Big Bad has been sending the CD to all local papers and radio stations through  BC and Alberta.  The envelopes piled up and their toungues were sore....from licking...the envelopes. Touring BC, Alberta and the west coast of the USA is the next step for the Big Bad.  After that...
