The Adult Film Industry was formed in Barrie Ontario in early 2008 from members of The Agency, Sees the Day, and Delta Rich. What started as three members (Jay, Murray, and Boyer) looking for a singer was transformed into a full band in late 2008 when Noah auditioned and got the gig.
The band then started to jam out punk/ska songs that had previously been written by the initial three members. After a few live shows and discussions it was decided that the band would start taking a new direction. The goal: The Adult Film Industry wanted to keep the high-energy feel of punk rock, while blending more rock and alternative into the mix to allow for a greater depth to their sound.
After a busy summer of 2009, the band took a few months off to hone their sound and write a new EP.
In June of 2010, they released their self-titled EP which they believe is both their best work so far and a great transition into maturity.
To date, The Adult Film Industry has played numerous shows with bands including: The Arkells, Hail the Villain and The Artist Life and their single "An Artful Dagger" was featured on Alan Cross' website "Explore Music" as the Indie Track of the Day Giveaway for June 30th, 2010.
