biographical info
AKA L. Abramson
AKA The Abramson Singers
Experimenting with East Van jazz stars on keyboards, accordion, bass, and drums, Leah crafts her unusual indie folk-noir, sings with her hollow-body electric guitar, and attempts to not take herself too seriously. When she is not working, writing, touring, or singing on records and with other bands, she's watching movies, baking, and trying not to be a hermit.
A former member of folk bands Dyad and The Crooked Jades, as well as indie-rockers Octoberman, Leah has also been a guest vocalist with Eamon McGrath, the Mohawk Lodge, Bob Wiseman, Pineapple (Cameron Dilworth), Roger Dean Young & the Tin Cup, Headwater, Melisa Devost, Karma Sohn and more.
The new Abramson Singers album was released on Feb 2, 2010 and is available at www.whitewhale.ca and iTunes.
Leah released her first full-length album, Bedroom/City under the name L. Abramson in 2006 on Copperspine Records, and it is available to buy online at www.copperspine.com or download from iTunes Canada.
She is currently working on a new album to be released in spring 2012.
