Approximately three years ago, three professional road musicians found themselves living near one another in Hanover Ontario. They decided to jam together with the sole intent to explore music and see where it might lead. Then magic happened. The band grooved hard! A powerful album called "Contraband" was recorded. This album became the foundation for an electrifying stage show..........The AB3.

This summer the band has been quite busy doing shows all over Grey / Bruce counties and have started recording their second album. The music is comprised of songs from the 60's and up to present, all done in their own blues / rock style. Arrangements are crafted to make use of space, dynamics, surprise and big sound. A classic power blues / rock band with real musicians playing real instruments, with nothing artificial added. The AB3 are three guys who sound like one..... or many. 

Andrew Burgess:   guitar and vocals. This year he celebrates 50 years of non stop playing in bands like Who's Your Daddy?, The Feeling, Aesop's Fables, Big Daddy & The Group, Father Finlay's Wake, A J's Boogie Band and many more. Audiences have thrilled to his playing from Thunder Bay to Miami Beach and everywhere in between.

Peter Novar: bass guitar. Peter is a relative new comer to our area. He hails from the Toronto area where he played with many name musicians including Jeff Healey, Amanda Marshall, The Damn Neighbours and many more. You may have seen him with The Harbour Rats who have performed in Tobermory for many years. On special gigs, Peter wears his special hat. This is the actual Stevie Reay Vahn hat that so many musicians covet. It was given to Peter by Jeff Healey after a performance with Stevie Reay.

Justin Burgess (Just B.): drums and vocals. Justin Burgess is a career singer / songwriter who has written and recorded eight original albums of his own. These are available at www.cdbaby.com. Justin also records and produces many other artists and runs his own studio. Recently Justin has tried his hand at music videos, which can be found on YouTube, facebook and CBC radio 3. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in percussion and has performed with many many bands over the years. Justin has worked with jazz bands such as Phil Nimmens, The Lighthouse Swing Band and Robert Gasidlo. He has played on cruise ships in the ships orchestra. Justin toured The Netherlands with his own band Big on Venus and played drums and bass for the legendary Thundermug. He also toured Europe and the Maritime provinces with Tres Hombres.

Justin crafts all the arrangements for The AB3. This summer Justin Burgess played the Bull Rockfest where he fronted his band, The Justin Burgess Band on guitar and vocals. Of the 12 bands at the festival, Justin was the only artist performing music he wrote himself.
