biographical info
"Somewhere in the sonic vicinity of Liz Phair's whip-smart Exile in Guyville and Susan Tedeschi's blue-streak swoon lie the tunes of Tara Holloway, whose debut Sins to Confess exhales and thrashes in equal measure. She takes care, amidst the obligatory thank yous, to include a shout out to her love of vinyl, and her affection for the warm clicks and pops of the past are on display throughout: East Side Story draws on '70s low-end funk/blues traditions and the staccato trem pop of Boyfriend hints at The Ronettes. But whether Holloway belts or bawls, rocks or ruminates, the blues is ever present, and she's at her best when she sets foot into its darker haunts, as she does on the set's best track, the crash and burn of Misnomer." Steve Baylin, Ottawa Xpress
"...a force to be reckoned with. She’s from Canada. She’s got an amazing, unique voice." Creed Bratton, The Office
"SINS TO CONFESS" is the debut release from Tara Holloway. Several years in the making, it has been a collaborative effort between Holloway, producer Dave Way and a plethora of musicians and artists from California and Tennessee, USA to Ontario, Canada. BUT BE WARNED: THESE SONGS ARE REAL. They are mostly based on her own experiences as a singer and songwriter, of moving from city to city, town to town, and coast to coast. The themes of love, betrayal, sexuality and loneliness, on a road quite often traveled, are laid out with a voice as varied as the stories she tells. Often heard on the hit American television series "Sons of Anarchy," on Canadian radio (Virgin Radio Vancouver, CKCU and LiVE 88.5), performing at the Hotel Cafe, the Mint (LA), Zaphod Beeblebrox (Ottawa) and the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest.
