artist TWO FOR THE CASCADE

Originally formed as a duo in early 2007, Two For The Cascade has blossomed into one of Windsor's most unique bands. Drawing on experimental sounds and oft-forgotten articles of sound to augment more traditional instruments, Two For The Cascade's true strength lies in the darkly awkward pairing of the two voices. Like painful longing or a haunting realization of the truth, Two For The Cascade is the legitimate sound of True Love: it is an epic reminder that quite often you must endure the tidal crashes of the darkness to bathe in the golden beacon of the sublime. At times, hopelessly romantic and painfully naive, others brutally honest and starkly aware. But no matter the tone of undercurrent, there is always the resonance of hope in that distance. That regardless of time, space of occurrence, true love will outlast all tragedy. Kevin Buckridan-(What Heart)brings his emotional driven thrust noir to the vocal tapestry and delicately meshes with the precision and focus of Stefanie Zaccagnini (exRed Locust Frenzy)The result is a union that upon hearing individually shouldn't seem to work, but when heard together, rings together like a Church Bell after the War. Drawing on a variety of influences, Two For The Cascade retains the sweet melody of song while boldly looking to stretch in directions such often taken for granted song structure's are often left out of. The sound is capably aided by the strong backbeat of George Manury (Roy Mahal ex itzjunk, Ten Indians, The Scarecrows)and the theramin sounds of newcomer Holly Brush. The quartet had their debut release in 2009, recorded at Manury's own Maiden Lane Studios in Windsor, Ontario. No strangers to the stage, Two For The Cascade has spent much of the past year honing their stage performance, playing many shows in Windsor with such bands as The Golden Hands Before God..., The Speaking Tongues, Perilelle, Another Saturday Knight, The Hung Jury and more, as well as Toronto, Ontario. They have also graced the stage of Windsor's premiere Arts & Music exposition, Harvesting The FAM Festival, having been selected to perform in both 2007, 2008, 2010. Most recently playing with Raised by Swans, Yukon Blonde, and The Unsettlers.

With their newly built home studio, 2011 hopes to bring a new release from the band.
