biographical info
Formed in 1997 by James Hayden,
Steve Elaschuk, & Edward Tiegs. Thousandsticks began as an outlet for creating guitar-driven, melody-based pop music with a tip of the hat towards a roots influence.
The band has recorded a total of 10 songs on the usual shoestring budget of time and money which have received some good airplay on a few Calgary radio stations & nationally on CBC's Radio Sonic.
During early recording sessions, the band invited guitarist Lyle Crilly to become its fourth member. Having played guitar in several British pop-inspired bands, Crilly brought a subtle pop sensibility to the band.
In early 1999 Thousandsticks recruited a new drummer, Jonathan Hayden (no relation).
Recently, Thousandsticks welcomed multi-talented singer-songwriter & keyboardist extraordinaire, Lorrie Matheson into the fray.
The band has yet to release a full-length CD but the plan is to have something recorded before next year. Until then, a thousand thanks for reading.
